In the UK, a court has imprisoned two men inspired by the ideas of the Islamic State (IS, a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) for preparing a terrorist attack against hundreds of people in the Jewish community. This was reported by the Reuters news agency on February 13.

"Walid Saadawi, 38, and Amar Hussain, 52, were found guilty after a trial at Preston Crown Court <...> These two were Islamist extremists who wanted to use automatic firearms to kill as many Jews as possible," the publication says.

It is emphasized that the planned terrorist attack could have become more deadly than the December attack on Bondi Beach in Sydney.

The judge sentenced Saadawi to 37 years in prison and Hussein to 26 years in prison, saying they were "close to carrying out their plan."

On January 21, Reuters reported that the Stockholm District Court sentenced a 19-year-old boy to seven years and 10 months in prison for preparing a terrorist attack. As noted, he planned to attack participants of a cultural festival that took place in the Swedish capital in August 2025. The young man was acting on behalf of ISIS. The court noted that in preparation for the terrorist attack, the man conducted a thorough reconnaissance of the city, and also shot a film that was planned to be published after the attack.
