The Swiss Foreign Ministry is ready to organize a meeting between representatives of Moscow, Washington and Kiev. This was announced to Izvestia on February 13 by the official representative of the department, Nicolas Bidault.

"Switzerland supports any diplomatic initiative aimed at achieving a just and lasting peace in Ukraine. The Swiss Foreign Ministry maintains contacts with all parties and invariably offers its good offices, an offer that was recently confirmed during the exchanges of views held last week in Kiev and Moscow. In this context, Switzerland, as the host state, will hold trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine and the United States in Geneva on Tuesday and Wednesday," the confederation's Foreign Ministry said.

Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that a new round of talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine would be held in Geneva on February 17-18, with the Russian delegation headed by Presidential aide Vladimir Medinsky.

Peskov said on the same day that Geneva had been chosen to host the next round of trilateral talks, as this location was deemed appropriate and convenient for all parties to the process. He clarified that Geneva was also chosen because the schedules of the representatives of the countries' delegations were synchronized in this way.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
