The Hydrometeorological Center reported heavy ice by the end of the week in Moscow.
The weather in Moscow will be changeable in the coming days. On Friday and Saturday, the snow will melt, but on Sunday night the temperature will drop sharply. Dmitry Kiktev, Deputy Director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, told Izvestia about this on February 13.
"It will be cloudy on the afternoon of February 13 and 14, with light precipitation in some places. In the north of the Moscow region — moderate. Rain, sleet. The temperature in the capital is +1...+3 degrees. In the region — -2...+3. And nighttime temperatures are about the same order of magnitude, near zero," he said.
Snow is expected on the night of February 15, the temperature in Moscow will range from -8...-10 degrees, and in the region -8...-13 degrees. The wind will change from the south to the northwest, and light snow will fall in some places during the day.
"The temperature is -6...-8, in the region -5...-10 and heavy ice. On Monday, there was light snow in places at night, and much more noticeable in the afternoon. It will be stronger in the south of the Moscow region, and weaker in the north: in some places it will be strong, in some places there will be a blizzard and even snow drifts," Kiktev explained.
According to him, the coming week will be quite cool, and the temperature will show negative values. Light snow is expected at the end of next week, with nighttime readings of -11...-16 degrees, and daytime readings of -5...-10 degrees.
On February 12, the Hydrometeorological Center announced a new wave of frosts in Moscow on February 16. It was noted that on Sunday the air will warm up from -1 to +1 degrees in the capital and from -3 to +2 degrees in the region. The cold snap will be accompanied by westerly and northwesterly winds of 6-11 m/s, heavy ice is expected on the roads.
