The United States will send its largest aircraft carrier, the Gerald R. Ford, and its accompanying group of ships to the Middle East. This was reported on February 12 by the New York Times (NYT) newspaper, citing sources in the American administration.
"The aircraft carrier Gerald R. Ford and its escort ships deployed in the Caribbean will be sent to the Middle East and are expected to return to their home ports only in late April or early May," the publication says.
