The Argentine Congress has passed a bill on the reform of the juvenile criminal justice system, according to which the age of criminal responsibility will be lowered to 14 years. This was reported on February 13 by the Argentine newspaper Clarín.

"The proposal, which is part of the rigid program of the La Libertad Avanza party, received preliminary approval: 149 votes in favor and 100 against," the publication says.

It is specified that now in Argentina they are criminally liable from the age of 16.

On May 29, 2025, the Government of Argentina allowed those who invest in the country to obtain citizenship. According to the document, the rules of entry and residence of foreigners are being tightened. For example, people who are illegally convicted of any crime, regardless of its severity, will be deported.
