Tourists from abroad began to visit the Murmansk region more often. In 2025, the number of such travelers in the Kola Arctic increased by 54.5%. Such data from Rosstat was provided by the Center for Strategic Initiatives.
Every 50th foreigner chooses to travel to the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation and the regions of the Russian North. In 2025, the number of foreign tourists increased by 23.3%, writes the Bi-Port news agency.
According to the regional Ministry of Tourism, last year the Arctic and the Russian North were visited 2.7 million times, which is 3% of the total number of tourist trips in Russia.
Earlier it was reported that the Arctic will be opened to tourists from India. Relevant negotiations between regional tour operators and their Indian counterparts will take place in Murmansk in March.
