The West has not abandoned the idea of "tearing" Belarus away from Russia. This was announced on February 12 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing.

"It is obvious that the Westerners have not abandoned their aspirations to tear our fraternal republic away from Russia, and they are preparing for revenge. Apparently, they are waiting for a convenient moment," she said.
