European Russophobes are not particularly interested in whether Ukrainians want to fight. This was stated on February 12 by Russia's Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) Dmitry Polyansky at a meeting of the OSCE Permanent Council.

"Whether Ukrainians want to fight or not, European Russophobes are not interested — Ukraine has already been sacrificed, and they absolutely do not care what happens to it as a result of the conflict," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The diplomat also said that any talk by Europe about a peace agreement is hypocritical against the background of the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacks on civilian targets. He also states that the EU "fundamentally does not notice this."

Polyansky said that the silence of Western countries regarding the assassination attempt on Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev is perceived by Russia as an endorsement of Kiev's terrorist methods.

Earlier in the day, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the intentions of the head of the European Diplomacy, Kai Kallas, to prepare a set of requirements for Russia and Ukraine demonstrate the EU's desire to prevent the conflict from ending. Zakharova added that the actions of Callas and the EU actually prevent Kiev from making compromises to resolve the conflict and indicate the intention of the European bureaucracy to prevent the end of hostilities by any means.

Military analyst Alexander Merkouris said on February 11 that Kai Kallas' anti-Russian statements were aimed at disrupting any attempts at interaction between Russia and the EU.
