The expert assessed the personnel changes in Kyrgyzstan
In Kyrgyzstan, the vertical of power is being strengthened, and powers are being concentrated in the hands of President Sadyr Japarov. This was stated by Rustam Burnashev, a political scientist and expert on Central Asian countries, in an interview with Izvestia on February 12.
"In recent years, the country has been governed by a kind of duumvirate, now power is consolidating in the hands of Sadyr Japarov. It seems to me that he has a good chance of success. Apparently, he coordinated his actions with the Interior Ministry and the army, and the National Security Committee is also not making any attempts to change anything. Plus, Kamchybek Tashiev himself is currently undergoing treatment outside the country, so he has few opportunities to influence anything," he says.
The expert adds that Kyrgyzstan has a lot of experience of street riots, but so far everything looks pretty routine.
The speaker of the country's parliament, Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu, resigned on February 12, before that, President Japarov announced the resignation of Kamchybek Tashiev, head of the State Committee for National Security, as well as three of his deputies. In addition, the border guard service and the State Security Service, which were previously part of the National Security Committee, were allocated to separate departments.
