Russia will not participate in the next meeting of the "Peace Council". This was announced on February 12 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.
"Russia will not be represented at the meeting of the Peace Council," she said.
Zakharova added that work on shaping the position of the Russian Federation continues.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced on February 11 that Kremlin representatives were not planning to attend the first meeting of the "Peace Council" to resolve the conflict in the Gaza Strip. The Russian president's press secretary added that Moscow's participation in the Peace Council is still being worked out by the Russian Foreign Ministry. It was clarified that the first meeting of the "Peace Council" is scheduled for February 19 in Washington.
Peskov also confirmed on February 9 that there was no response to the Russian Federation's proposal to contribute to the Peace Council. Peskov added that the issue of the "Peace Council" continues to be discussed, as instructed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
