Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on February 11 that the European Union (EU) should choose long-term cooperation with Ukraine, rather than accepting it into its membership.

"Ukraine's admission to the EU will plunge Europe into conflict. We are not against cooperation, but EU membership is the wrong way," he wrote on the social network X.
