The Russian Embassy told about the seizure of Russian children in Germany
Russians and Russian-speaking compatriots report cases of children being seized by the German juvenile justice authorities without substantial grounds. This was reported to Izvestia on February 12 at the Russian Embassy in Berlin.
"The consular department of the embassy periodically receives complaints from Russians and Russian-speaking compatriots about the actions of the German juvenile justice authorities. We are informed that local youth affairs agencies often remove children from their families without substantial grounds, legal proceedings regarding the return of children are delayed, and parents are limited in their ability to communicate with them," the diplomats noted.
At the same time, in this sensitive area, it is necessary to consider each specific case, whether it is about excessive nagging or improper parental care for their children, the diplomatic mission explained.
"When complaints are received, we provide consulting support and send requests to the youth affairs agencies to clarify the situation. We recommend that applicants contact local lawyers specializing in family law," the Russian Embassy in Germany concluded.
Anatoly Bublik, the author and head of the Path Home project, answering the question of what Russians living in the West should do if their children were withdrawn because of their intention to return to their homeland, said in July 2024 that German legislation stipulates that the child is the property of the state, and the parents are his temporary caregivers. According to him, if representatives of juvenile justice came to the family, then the child and the family "will always be under the gun."
