Moscow Zoo celebrates its 162nd birthday

The Moscow Zoo will celebrate its 162nd birthday. This was announced on Wednesday, February 11, according to the website of the Moscow City Hall.

It is specified that the institution celebrates its anniversary on February 12, and a special program has been prepared for visitors on weekends.On February 14, at 12:00, a lecture "From menagerie to Zoo" will be held, dedicated to the history and development of zoo gardens, and a workshop "Robin the Penguin" will open in the Bird House, where guests will be able to create eco-friendly souvenirs.

An entrance ticket and pre-registration are required to participate. An excursion "Zoo from A to Z – the path of stories" about the behind-the-scenes life of the inhabitants and the interaction of humans and animals will take place at 14:00; registration by phone and a ticket are required, the Moscow City News agency reports.

On February 15, at 12:00, the play "Bird Commotion" will be shown in the zoo library, after which a tour of the territory is planned. Free tickets are available through the Mosbilet, and an entrance ticket is also required. In addition, until March 29, from 10:00 to 17:00, visitors will be able to see an exhibition of animal artists in the hall of the P.T. Klyuev Residential Building (Monday and Tuesday are weekends), writes Moscow 24.
