The clear actions of Nikolai Pavlovich's security guard, who died as a result of a shooting at a private Anapa industrial college, made it possible to avoid casualties among students and teachers. This was announced on Wednesday evening, February 11, by the director of the educational institution, Evgenia Ponomareva.

"The right decisions and clear actions of the security officer in the first minutes helped to avoid casualties among students and teachers. <...> Saved many lives," she is quoted as saying in the Telegram channel of the operational headquarters in the Krasnodar Territory.

The director clarified that Nikolai noticed on the surveillance cameras the first shots fired by the assaulting student, aimed at one of the college employees. After that, a guard dressed in a bulletproof vest immediately blocked the entrances to the building, but was overtaken by the attacker.

Being wounded, the man pressed the alarm button, called the Rosgvardiya staff and contacted the second security point, notifying colleagues of what was happening. At that moment, as Ponomareva added, an armed student shot at Nikolai several more times, which also hit a student who was in the hall.

The head of the college stated that the actions of her employee allowed law enforcement officials to quickly neutralize and detain the criminal.

The shooting at Anapa College occurred on the morning of February 11. Three people were reported injured. Later, information appeared about one dead guard. The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Krasnodar Territory reported the arrest of a student who staged an attack using unidentified weapons.

A source told Izvestia that during the events, students who had barricaded themselves in classrooms said goodbye to their relatives in correspondence. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region opened a criminal case on the tragedy on the same day. Criminologists involved in the territory of the educational institution seized firearms, shell casings and cartridges from there.
