- Politico found out about the lawsuit against the Prime Minister of Albania due to the use of appearance
The Albanian government may lose the rights to use the image of an AI minister named Diella, created based on the appearance and voice of actress Anila Bishi, due to a lawsuit filed by the actress. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on February 11.
"In our opinion, this lawsuit is absurd, but we are glad to have the opportunity to resolve this issue in court once and for all," the newspaper quoted government spokesman Manjoli Hasa as saying.
According to the actress, the local government continued to use her appearance beyond the agreed deadlines that expired last year, which caused Bysshe "significant and irreversible damage." Also in the lawsuit, she demands an injunction against further use of her appearance until the end of the proceedings.
Last December, it was reported that the national experiment on digitalization of public administration in Albania allegedly faced an unexpected problem when the first AI Diella, appointed to a ministerial position, was at the center of a corruption scandal.
Diella was appointed to the post of Minister of Public Procurement on September 11, 2025. It was clarified that in order to support the AI minister, it was planned to create a special unit that would implement neural networks in other government agencies, ensuring transparency and honesty of tenders. On October 27, the Prime Minister of Albania, Edi Rama, said that Diella was pregnant, and her "children" would help officials in their work.
