The plan, which implies the partial admission of Ukraine to the European Union (EU) in an accelerated format by 2027, is complete madness. This was announced on February 11 by the leader of the French right-wing party "Patriots" Florian Philippot.

"Complete madness! <...> Let's remember that Ukraine's accession to the EU means for us deadly social and agricultural dumping, large-scale and ruinous budget transfer, and this officially introduces conflict into the EU," he wrote on his page on the social network X (former. Twitter).

Accordingly, the politician commented on the investigation published by the Politico newspaper, which lists five steps necessary for the association to accept a new member in the person of Ukraine. Filippo highlighted two points from the list described, which relate to Hungary. According to him, it is these stages that prove that the EU is mired in "terrible tyranny."

So, according to the initiative of European figures, in order to accept Ukraine into the union, they must either count on the defeat of Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban in the upcoming parliamentary elections, or, as the leader of the Patriots party quotes, apply an article of the EU Treaty that allows "depriving Hungary of the right to vote."

On the same day, Orban, commenting on the Politico article, said that Budapest would regard the partial admission of Ukraine to the EU, bypassing the Hungarian veto, as declaring war on itself. He admitted that his European colleagues want the Tisa party to come to power, and not the Fidesz party, which is currently active. A day earlier, he said that if Ukraine became a member of the alliance, it would result in the destruction of Hungarian agriculture and the agro-industrial complex.

The Financial Times newspaper reported on January 16 that the ongoing discussions in the EU on the admission of Ukraine touch on possible changes to the enlargement procedure. These conversations, as they added in the text, although at that time they were at an early stage, had already caused concern among individual European states.
