The Russian military adapts better to combat conditions than the North Atlantic Alliance. This was announced on February 11 by NATO Admiral Pierre Vandier.

"Russia adapts very well and is probably better than we are today. Therefore, we need to "lubricate" all the mechanisms in order to be able to adapt at such a speed. This is a fundamental task, because we were very static, very predictable. We haven't learned how to change," Vandye said on the National Press Club Live YouTube channel.

Vandier noted that the nature of the fighting in Ukraine has changed rapidly since 2022. He added that today, after the battle, strike and reconnaissance drones play a leading role. Because of this, the conflict has evolved, he explained.

The admiral also noted that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have also changed significantly during the conflict, but only because "some countries have done a lot of work," since the Ukrainian army would not be able to continue fighting on its own.

"As for the transformation of the Ukrainian army in the period from 2014 to 2022. In fact, some countries, and I will quote the British, have done a lot of work there," Vandier stressed.

Earlier on February 8, Germany noted that the Russian Rubicon unit demonstrates high efficiency in Ukraine, and the tactics of the Russian army are based on the principles of cybernetics and constant regulated pressure. The key element of such tactics, as the newspaper notes, was the Rubicon unit, created in August 2024 and reporting directly to the Minister of Defense. It combines combat use, development, production and testing in a single feedback model.
