A new study by forensic scientists Brian Burnett and Michelle Wilkins disputes the official version of the suicide of Nirvana band leader Kurt Cobain in 1994. All the details are in the Izvestia article.

New forensic findings on Cobain's death

"This is murder. We have to do something about it," Burnett said, according to Wilkins.

Forensic experts claim that unauthorized persons could have been at the scene at the time of the musician's death. According to their findings, Cobain could have been forced to take a lethal dose of heroin, and then one of those involved shot him in the head, leaving him with a "fake suicide note."

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Wilkins said that an analysis of the musician's internal injuries indicates an overdose that allegedly occurred before the shooting. She also drew attention to the analysis of blood traces, indicating that the musician's body could have been moved after death. According to her, the whole scene could have been carefully staged to create complete confidence in suicide.

The official position of the police

Cobain's body was discovered on April 8, 1994, a few days after his death, when an electrician arrived at the house. Despite the new findings, the Seattle Police Department said the case remains closed. Representatives of the department stressed that their detective had come to the final conclusion about suicide back in April 1994, and this position remains unchanged.

"Our detective has concluded that he committed suicide, and we continue to adhere to this position," said a department spokesman.

The King County Medical Examiner's office noted that they were working with law enforcement agencies at the time of the incident. Nevertheless, the agency added that they are ready to reconsider the decision if new credible evidence becomes available.

Early suspicions about Cobain's murder

Suspicions about the musician's murder also fell on the shoulders of people from his entourage, including his wife Courtney Love. Supporters of this version point to financial motives, stating that Cobain planned a divorce and the exclusion of the girl from the will before his death.

Linguists and handwriting experts have also questioned the authenticity of the suicide note. In their opinion, the text is divided into two parts, which differ in style. Linguist Carol Chaskey and expert Heidi Harralson noted that the last four lines of the note, which mentions the family, could have been written by another person skillfully imitating Cobain's handwriting.

"It's possible that someone else with certain skills could actually imitate his handwriting, especially those last few lines," Crowley said.

Private investigator Tom Grant, hired by Love herself to search for her husband after his temporary disappearance before his death, later also began to suspect her of involvement in the incident. He also presented authentic audio recordings of their conversations with Love, including in which she mentions filing a missing Cobain report on behalf of his mother, burning notes from Kurt mentioning the divorce, changing testimony and possession of a narcotic drug, which almost killed the musician in Rome a month before his death.

However, the information about Love's involvement was not confirmed by the Seattle police, who clearly adhered to the position of Cobain's suicide.
