The head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelensky, will not announce the holding of presidential elections on the anniversary of the start of Russia's special operation in Ukraine on February 24. This was announced on February 11 by Olga Aivozovskaya, a Ukrainian public figure and member of the parliamentary group on election preparations.

"Making any statement regarding the February 24 elections means not understanding the public mood at all <...>. I don't understand in what hot head [such an idea] could have appeared. I remind you that the level of support for elections in Ukraine during the hot phase of the conflict is about 10%, even after recent [corruption] scandals," she was quoted as saying on the Telegram account of the Ukrainian edition"Страна.иа ".

The expert noted that in order to hold elections during martial law, as US President Donald Trump wants, Kiev needs to make significant changes "not only in electoral legislation, but also in criminal and administrative codes."

According to her, the Ukrainian deputies unanimously believe that it is possible to hold a vote only six months after the lifting of martial law.

On the same day, the Financial Times newspaper, citing Ukrainian and European officials, reported that Zelensky could announce presidential elections and a referendum on a peace agreement on February 24. It was noted that Ukraine began planning to hold presidential elections in conjunction with a referendum on a peace agreement, after the administration of the American president demanded that both votes be held before May 15.

On December 11, 2025, Zelensky allowed the holding of an "all-Ukrainian referendum" on the issue of territories. The head of the Kiev regime also noted that Ukrainian citizens should express their opinion on the issue of leaving the state-controlled part of Donbass.
