Peskov pointed to Russia's superiority in nuclear energy
Russia is the most advanced country in the world in the field of nuclear energy. This was announced on February 11 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.
"Russia, of course, has greater competencies and greater competitiveness [in the field of nuclear energy]. And being the most advanced country in the world in this field, Russia is able to withstand the highest level of international competition," he said, commenting on possible cooperation between Armenia and the United States in this area.
Peskov noted that we are talking about objects of Soviet and Russian design located on the territory of Armenia.
According to him, Russia intends to develop mutually beneficial relations with Yerevan and Baku, including investments and cultural cooperation.
At the same time, the Kremlin does not dispute the right of sovereign states to build relations with other countries, Peskov stressed.
On February 9, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance said during a joint press conference with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan that the United States would supply Armenia with small modular reactors under the nuclear energy agreement. He added that the initial supply will cost up to $5 billion, as well as maintenance and fuel provision for $4 billion.
