A 5-ton body sample was created for the Lada crossover.
A high-precision calibre has been installed on the assembly line of the new Lada Azimut model, which will be used to control the accuracy of the manufacture of exterior and interior parts. This was announced on February 11 by the press service of AvtoVAZ.
Calibre is a reference body sample weighing 5 tons, made of aluminum. It is based on a 3D model with an accuracy of 0.2 mm and allows you to mathematically evaluate the perceived quality. The plant's specialists, having fixed the part to the caliber, can visually assess its quality and check the accuracy of the components' fit using probes and 3D scanners. The device allows you to identify and measure the slightest deviations and make the necessary adjustments to the technology or tooling already at the pre-production stage.
AvtoVAZ develops more than 800 original parts for Azimut, of which 130 directly affect the perception of the car's appearance.
Similar high-precision calibres are already used for Lada Vesta and Iskra.
On February 9, it became known that Apple has included Lada cars in the official list of models that support the Apple CarPlay system. Apple CarPlay allows you to connect iOS smartphones to the car's media system. The list of brands is published in alphabetical order, in it Lada is located between Kia and Lamborghini.
