A resident of Stavropol received a receipt for payment for cold water in the amount of 55 thousand rubles. The man asked for help from the Oktyabrsky district prosecutor's office, the press service of the regional supervisory authority reported on social networks.

It turned out that the Municipal Unitary Enterprise Vodokanal had not notified the victim about checking the cold water meters in his house, thereby violating the law. Also, the consumer of public services was not informed of the consequences of the refusal to allow a representative of the enterprise to access the metering devices, which led to the issuance of an illegal invoice to the citizen.

In connection with the incident, a submission was made to the head of the resource supply organization. At the request of the supervisory authority, the citizen was recalculated for the above amount, writes IA StavropolMedia.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that fraudsters may speculate on the topic of refunding overpayments for housing and communal services. Such scam schemes are gaining relevance in late winter and early spring.: They take advantage of the fact that reports of recalculation of funds do not arouse caution and are perceived as a legitimate action on the part of departments or service providers.
