In the U.S. state of Arkansas, a pharmacy owner combined a pharmaceutical business with a firearms trade, turning a traditional pharmacy into a "multi-purpose store." This was reported on February 7 in the newspaper The New York Post (NYP).

We are talking about John Lykins, a licensed pharmacist and owner of Lowell Pharmacy in the city of Lowell, near Fayetteville. He opened a pharmacy in 2003, and in 2008 he received a federal license to trade weapons.

In addition to medicines and vitamins, customers can purchase firearms, ammunition and accessories at the pharmacy, as well as use the services of a gunsmith. Arkansas allows both concealed and open carry of weapons. To purchase a long—barreled weapon, you must reach the age of 18, present an identity card and check through the FBI, to purchase pistols, you must be at least 21 years old and have a similar verification procedure.

According to Lykins, the store serves up to 100 customers on busy days, and among the most popular items is the Sig Sauer P365 pistol. The business, as the newspaper notes, is steadily growing: 10 employees work in the pharmacy. Additionally, the entrepreneur participates in The Armory Project veterans support program, in which he stores weapons of former military personnel experiencing psychological difficulties for free until they are restored.

In November last year, a resident of the US state of Florida was found guilty of murdering his pregnant girlfriend after she refused to have an abortion. It is noted that the body of 18-year-old Kaylin Fiengo with a gunshot wound was found in her car in 2022. There was an ultrasound scan nearby, confirming that the girl was pregnant.
