- The Ferroalloy-1 line was turned off at the nuclear power plant due to the AFU fire
As a result of the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the industrial zone of Energodar, the infrastructure of life support of the city and the Zaporizhia NPP was damaged. This was announced on February 10 by the press service of the nuclear power plant.
"As a result of the fire from the Ukrainian Armed Forces, one of the two external power transmission lines feeding the Zaporizhia Nuclear power Plant, the 330 kV Ferroalloy—1 line, was disconnected. The power supply to the station, which is necessary to meet its needs, is currently being maintained via the second 750 kV Dneprovskaya line," the Telegram channel says.
The main pipeline of the heating main was also damaged, which is why the heat supply to residential buildings and social facilities of the Energy Center was temporarily suspended. There was no information about the victims.
The plant administration stated that the radiation background in the area of the nuclear power plant meets the standards and there is no threat to radiation safety. Specialists will begin restoration work as soon as the operational situation allows.
The day before, Evgenia Yashina, Director of Communications at the ZAES, said that the situation in the area of the Zaporizhia NPP remains tense due to the ongoing attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces. She noted that the only exceptions were periods of "silence", which were used for repair and restoration work.
