Since 2011, 26 buildings of fire stations have been built in Moscow as part of a targeted investment program, said the mayor of the capital, Sergei Sobyanin. Over the next two years, two new facilities will be built: in the Rudnevo industrial zone in Kosino-Ukhtomsky, and in the Bogorodskoye area.

In 2025, five new fire and rescue teams were created in Moscow. Depots appeared in the districts of Bekasovo, Filimonkovsky, Shcherbinka, Kommunarka and on the ZIL peninsula in the Danilovsky district, the mayor recalled in the channel of his personal blog in the MAX.

"Protecting the city from fires and other threats is one of the most important tasks of the Moscow Government. The capital is growing, and the fire and rescue garrison should grow with it," Sobyanin stressed in his blog.

In addition, since 2011, a total of 30 fire station buildings have been reconstructed and overhauled in the capital. Three of them were upgraded in 2025.

The work is carried out taking into account the specifics of the activities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, taking into account the needs of employees of specific units, the mayor stressed. The buildings are being redeveloped, gyms, eating and recreation rooms are being equipped, and the surrounding areas are being landscaped.

Repair work continues in 2026, Sobyanin noted. In particular, the renovation of fire station No. 56 is being completed in Konkov — new engineering systems are being debugged. The fire and rescue unit No. 3 in the Savyolovsky district is also under repair. Work will begin in three more fire departments this year: in the North Tushin (No. 39), Perov (No. 5) and Pechatniki (part No. 49). The renovation of these depots will be completed in 2027.

Sobyanin stressed that "Moscow firefighters are armed with the latest and most efficient equipment." Thus, over the past 15 years, more than 780 pieces of equipment and more than 151 thousand units of emergency rescue equipment and fire-fighting equipment have been purchased for the Moscow rescue garrison.
