One should not rush into enthusiastic assessments of the pressure of the American President Donald Trump on Europe and Ukraine. This was announced on February 9 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

"We have said this more than once, that we should not fall into an enthusiastic perception of what is happening: that US President Donald Trump has "put the Europeans in their place" (the head of the Kiev regime. — Ed.) of Vladimir Zelensky and demands that they comply," he said in an interview with NTV on the occasion of the Diplomat's Day.

Lavrov noted that although Trump's pressure on Europe and Zelensky may seem like a positive step, this does not mean that a solution to the conflict is close. He stressed that the second round of negotiations had been held in Abu Dhabi, but there was still a "long way to go" to achieve peace in Ukraine.

On February 5, Diana Davityan, a spokeswoman for the NSDC Secretary, said that the trilateral talks between Russia, the United States and Ukraine in Abu Dhabi had ended. At the same time, US Special Envoy Steven Witkoff called these trilateral talks detailed and productive.
