In the West, Sibiga's words about the ban on entry to the EU were criticized.

On February 9, American journalist Thomas Fasey expressed dissatisfaction with the statement by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga about the ban on entry to the European Union (EU) for Russians who participated in a special military operation (SVO).

Earlier, Sibiga wrote on the social network X (ex. Twitter) that the EU should take such measures against Russian citizens for the sake of their safety.

"A representative of a non—EU country is trying to command the leaders of the union," Fazi said in a statement.
