The expert spoke about the goals of Vance's visit to Armenia and Azerbaijan.
During his visit to Transcaucasia, US Vice President Jay Dee Vance will try to give an additional impetus to the construction of the so-called "Trump route". This was stated by Andrey Areshev, an expert at the Strategic Culture Foundation, in an interview with Izvestia.
"There are a number of other topics. In cooperation with Armenia, the issue of high technologies, the deployment of a large data center in the Transcaucasian republic, the supply of chips and other products are being discussed. In relations with Azerbaijan, Americans are concerned about energy, they seek to take control of energy supply routes around the world," he emphasizes.
In January, Armenia and the United States agreed to establish a joint venture to develop transport routes in Armenia as part of the implementation of the Trump Route (TRIPP) project. The controlling stake will belong to the Americans, and Yerevan will retain sovereignty over the sites involved in the project.
J.D. Vance will visit Transcaucasia on February 9-11. During the trip, he will meet with the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Assistant Secretary of State for Economic Affairs Jacob Halberg will also participate in the negotiations.
