Several hotels in Cuba have temporarily suspended operations due to a reduction in the tourist flow, while vacationers are being moved free of charge to working hotels, including higher categories. This was announced on February 9 by the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR).

"Due to the decrease in tourist traffic on the island, the hotel fund is being optimized: some hotels are temporarily closed. Tourists are relocated free of charge, as a rule, to hotels of a higher category," TASS reports.

According to ATOR, the Resonance Cayo Santa Maria, Resonance Blu Santa Lucia, Domina Varadero, Mojito on Cayo Coco, Tuxpan in Varadero, Costa Sur, and Memories Paraiso Azul Beach Resort 5* hotels have already been suspended or completely closed.

The association recalled that Aeroflot canceled flights to Cuba after the publication of a NOTAM notice on restrictions on refueling aircraft. The reason was an acute shortage of aviation fuel, which the Cuban authorities officially warned international airlines about.
