Russian athlete Daria Olesik competed at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy, completing her third and fourth races on Tuesday, February 10. She covered the distance in 3 minutes, 33.210 seconds and took 14th place. The athlete competed in a neutral status, without using national symbols.

The day before, on February 9, the athlete also made two runs, then she took 14th place.

The winner in the discipline on February 10 was the representative of Germany Julia Taubitz, who showed a result of 3 minutes 30.625 seconds. Latvia's Elina Botha won silver (+0.918 seconds), while Ashley Farquharson from the USA took third place (+0.957).

Daria Olesik was born in 2004. At the age of 10, she became interested in luge, inspired by the achievements of Russian athletes at the 2014 Olympics.

In 2017, she won a bronze medal at the Russian Youth Cup in Sochi among girls aged 14-15. A year later, she joined the Russian junior national team, took third place at the national championship in single sledge and made her debut at the Junior World Cup.

At the adult level, Olesik won bronze at the Russian Championships in 2022 and 2023. In 2024, she became the national champion, and also won the prestigious Leonid Gart Memorial Cup twice. In 2025, she added silver at the national championship.

In the same year, Olesik received a neutral status and reached the World Cup stages. The debut was bright: 19th place in Cortina d'Ampezzo and fourth at the Nations Cup in Lake Placid. The points in the overall standings secured her a ticket to the 2026 Olympic Games.
