The State traffic Inspectorate announced a one-day raid in Moscow
The Moscow State Traffic Inspectorate will hold a citywide preventive event "Pedestrian crossing". It will take place tomorrow, February 10, the agency said in its Telegram channel.
Employees of the highway patrol service will monitor the observance of traffic rules by both pedestrians and drivers.
"As part of the raid, traffic inspectors will conduct information and explanatory work with children and adults on the rules of road safety when crossing the carriageway, as well as norms of behavior in the residential area and in courtyards," the traffic police of Moscow noted.
According to the results of the last such raid, which took place on January 27, traffic inspectors stopped more than 1,890 traffic violations by drivers and pedestrians.
During the day, 717 violations were stopped by drivers of vehicles, for which liability is provided under Article 12.18 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation "Failure to provide an advantage to pedestrians." Pedestrian road users violated traffic regulations 1,176 times (liability under Part 1 of Article 12.29 of the Administrative Code of the Russian Federation).
Earlier, on February 6, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin said that by now the number of people killed in road accidents in Russia has decreased by 27% since 2017, and the number of injured by 24%. He also drew attention to the steady decrease in the number of children killed in road accidents.
