The weather forecaster warned of frosty weather in Moscow until the end of the week

Relatively frosty weather will remain in Moscow and the Moscow region until the end of the week, while the air temperature will be 5-6 degrees below the climatic norm. This was reported to Izvestia on February 9 by Tatyana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the Meteonosti news agency.

"On Tuesday night in Moscow, the minimum temperature will be -13...-15 degrees, in the region — up to -18 degrees. Daytime temperatures are expected to reach -8...-10 degrees, in the region — from -8 to -13 degrees. Thus, the air temperature will be 5-6 degrees below the climatic norm. The weather area will remain cloudy with clarifications, without significant precipitation," Pozdnyakova said.

In the middle of the week, according to the forecaster, a cyclone will begin to determine weather conditions, as a result of which atmospheric pressure will decrease and snowfall is expected: precipitation will be light on Wednesday and moderate on Thursday. At the same time, the frosty weather will continue, on Wednesday night the temperature in Moscow will be -16...-18 degrees, in the region — up to -20, and during the day the air will warm up only to -7...-9 degrees in the capital and from -7...-12 degrees in the region.

"On Thursday, with snowfall, the night will be relatively warmer than the day before, with cloudy weather the temperature will be -7...-12 degrees. In the afternoon, due to the southerly currents, the temperature will rise: both in Moscow and in the region it is expected from -1...-6 degrees.", — said Pozdnyakova.

The peak of cold weather in the capital will be in the middle of the week.

By the end of the working week, the expert clarified, the temperature background will approach the climatic norm, and precipitation will become mixed: snow is expected on Friday night, rain and sleet alternation in the afternoon. The night temperature will be from -1...-6 degrees, daytime air will warm up from -3...+2 degrees, which will be slightly higher than the climatic norm.

On Saturday, February 14, according to Pozdnyakova, the weather will be determined by a cyclone, the center of which will be located over the western Chernozem region. At the same time, it will have the features of a southern cyclone, as it will come from the territory of Bulgaria and bring portions of warm air to the region. As a result, this day will be the first truly thawing day: during the day, the temperature will range from -2...+3 degrees, which is 4-5 degrees above the climatic norm.

"But I must say that this relatively warm weather will not stay with us for long, because all models show that starting from the second half of February, the temperature will drop," she concluded.

Pozdnyakova said on February 2 that the cold weather in the Moscow region would continue throughout the week, including weekends. She specified that the most severe frosts are expected in the middle of the week, when the weather will be influenced by the periphery of the anticyclone.
