The AFD leader called for resuming negotiations with Putin and considering Russia a part of Europe

This was stated on February 8 by Tino Krupalla, co-chairman of the right-wing Alternative for Germany (AfD) party, in an interview with ARD TV channel.

"We really need to come to consider Russia as part of Europe again and finally strive for this balance again," he said.

He noted that NATO was founded as a defensive alliance, and not just as a tool of "deterrence."

"I think we need to resume negotiations with [Russian President Vladimir] Putin as soon as possible," Krupalla urged.
