On February 7, Kiev Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned residents of the capital about the onset of very difficult days.

"We have to go through the next few days, which will be very difficult for Kiev," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, due to the extremely difficult situation in the Ukrainian energy system, emergency shutdowns continue in most regions of the country. He also said that the city services are doing everything to support Kiev in the most difficult crisis conditions.

On January 31, the French newspaper Le Monde reported on the critical condition of Ukraine's energy system. According to the publication, the reasons were chronic network overload, infrastructure damage and continued pressure on energy facilities as a result of military operations.

In turn, Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada from the Batkivshchyna party Sergey Yevtushok on January 30 allowed the forced evacuation of Kiev residents due to the critical situation in the energy sector. According to him, there are not enough places in Ukraine where evacuees could be accommodated for the resettlement of citizens.
