A number of AFD deputies were banned from visiting the Bundestag in Germany
In Germany, several deputies of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party were banned from entering the Bundestag under the pretext of "ensuring the security" of the German parliament. This was reported by the Bild newspaper on February 7.
"Before issuing passes, faction employees are required to undergo a security check. If there are "reasonable doubts" about its results, admission may be refused," the newspaper quotes a statement from the parliamentary administration.
It is noted that two of the banned politicians worked in the parliamentary faction. The other five are for individual deputies.
At the same time, they are not paid wages because of the ban.
AFD co-chair Alice Weidel said in an interview with Hallo Meinung on January 26 that Chancellor Friedrich Merz's policy had led to a situation where Germany had lost its influence in the new world order. She also noted that German companies have lost their competitiveness in international markets due to the fact that they face the highest energy prices in the world.
