Lomonosov's high birth can indirectly confirm other facts of his biography. Arriving in Moscow to enroll in the Slavic-Greek-Latin Academy, he indicated in the documents that he allegedly came from a noble family — such a feature would allow the future scientist to receive an increased scholarship. When the forgery was discovered, there was no significant punishment for Lomonosov.
