Venezuela may join the Brazilian coalition against American policy in Latin America. On February 6, the republic's ambassador to Russia, Jesus Rafael Salazar Velasquez, told Izvestia.

"If the head of government, Delcy Rodriguez, receives an invitation, she will consider it and probably join," the diplomat stressed.

According to him, if the acting president is invited to participate in the initiative, she will evaluate and weigh all the arguments before deciding whether to participate or refuse. But so far, no official invitation has been received.

In January 2026, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva announced that he intended to form an international coalition to oppose US policy in Latin America.

Lula da Silva said on January 24 that US President Donald Trump is seeking to create a "new" United Nations (UN), which he will "solely own." He also called it a critical moment in world politics.
