The White House has rejected accusations of racism over a video posted by US President Donald Trump. This was reported on February 6 by CNN.

"This is an excerpt from an Internet meme where President Trump is depicted as the king of the jungle, and the Democrats as characters from the cartoon The Lion King," said White House press secretary Caroline Levitt.

Donald Trump posted a video on his Truth Socia social network in which former US President Barack Obama and his wife Michelle appear as monkeys at the end of the video. Soon, the White House denied the accusations of racism over the video, explaining that the video was humorous and devoted to fraud in the US presidential election in 2020.

A White House spokeswoman also called the outrage "fake."

"Please stop this fake outrage and do something today that really matters to the American public," Levitt said.

CNN also reports that the White House accused an employee of posting the video on Trump's account, and later said the post had been deleted. The channel also notes that the statements followed the criticism.

Former Obama adviser Ben Rhodes also expressed his dissatisfaction. He noted that in the future, the spouses "will be perceived as beloved people," while the current leader of the country will remain a "stain" on the history of the United States. At the same time, he called the supporters of the head of the White House racists.

In July 2025, Trump also posted an artificial intelligence-generated video on a social network featuring the 44th President of the United States, Obama, in which he was detained by employees of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

On July 20, the American president accused Obama of fraud in the 2016 presidential election. According to Tulsi Gabbard, director of the US National Intelligence Service, the administration of the former president concealed intelligence data that Russia "had no intention or ability" to hack the electronic electoral system in the 2016 US presidential election.
