Rosneft confirms its status as a leader in the field of sustainable development

Rosneft shares are included by the Moscow Stock Exchange in all indices in the field of sustainable development. The company became the only representative of the oil and gas sector with state participation, whose securities were included in all relevant indicators based on the results of the annual review. The new calculation bases included the index of climate sustainability of non-financial companies, the index of the Moscow Stock Exchange-RAEX "ESG balanced", as well as the group of indices of the Moscow Stock Exchange-RSPP. Companies that demonstrate compliance with best practices in the field of environmental and social responsibility, corporate governance and information disclosure in financial statements become participants in these indices.

The climate sustainability index of non-financial companies is formed from the securities of the leaders of the ESG agenda, which have a built-in climate management system and control climate risks. The Moscow Stock Exchange-RAEX "ESG balanced" index is reviewed once a year and includes 20 companies with the highest indicators of sustainable development according to the rating agency RAEX. It is calculated based on the RAEX ESG ranking, which includes 145 companies from Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Mongolia, including 20 representatives of the oil and gas industry.

Rosneft has been publishing sustainability reports since 2007 in accordance with Russian and international recommendations. The reports are being independently evaluated by an external auditor, the company stressed.

By the end of 2024, the volume of Rosneft's "green" investments reached 74 billion rubles, and in total for the period from 2022 to 2024 amounted to almost 200 billion rubles. The funds are used to improve the reliability of pipelines, develop infrastructure for the utilization of associated petroleum gas, reduce emissions and implement other environmental projects.
