Some European countries have begun to recall infant formula from the French company Danone due to the content of cereulide toxin in them. This was reported on February 6 by Bloomberg with reference to the statements of the countries.

"Countries including Austria, Germany, France and Switzerland have announced the recall of the Aptamil and Milumil brands from Danone," the agency writes.

Agence France-Presse also reported that Romania, Hungary and Poland began to recall the mixtures at the same time.

Back in January, Danone itself issued a statement stating that all the tests carried out confirmed the safety of the products. However, as regulatory authorities in some countries began to change the rules governing the content of mixtures, the company began to remove limited quantities of baby food from European markets.

According to Bloomberg, the toxin got into the mixture due to the fault of the Chinese supplier of arachidonic acid oil for mixtures Cabio Biotech Wuhan.

Also on January 22, at least four cases of deterioration of health in infants after eating baby food produced by Nestle were recorded in the Netherlands. The consumer organization Foodwatch, in turn, reported dozens of appeals from concerned parents from different European countries. On January 6, Rospotrebnadzor introduced a temporary sanitary measure to suspend the import of a number of Nestle baby dry mixes into Russia.
