By September 1 of this year, it is planned to complete the renovation of three floors of the Central Telegraph Building, which will become the campus of the Central University. This was stated by the rector of the university Evgeny Ivashkevich.

According to him, the full restoration will be completed by September 2027.

"This building is really symbolic for us, because 100 years ago, when it was first built, it served as a communication link between the center and the regions of our country. Transfer of information, transfer of knowledge from the center, regions and back. And we're looking at it so that the new function of the building will be exactly the same. Knowledge from students, teachers, our industrial partners, and scientists will also be transferred here," said the rector.

He said that the names of the Central University and the Central Telegraph are closely related. "This story began three years ago, when T-Technologies decided to establish a new university. At that moment, we were looking for a new name, original, interesting, and, of course, a future home for the new university," Ivashkevich shared. When the management of T-Technologies came to the Central Telegraph Office for an excursion, Stanislav Bliznyuk, the president of the group, saw the sign "Central Telegraph" at the exit of the building and suggested changing one word — that's how the name of the university appeared.

Currently, specialists in the field of information technology are being trained at the Central University. "We expect to further expand the range of our schools," the rector stressed, adding that a school of natural sciences is planned to be launched.
