The Court of Justice of the European Union (EU) has confirmed the right of the member states of the alliance to confiscate those vehicles that are exported from Russia in violation of sanctions. This is evidenced on February 6 by the relevant resolution published on the instance's website.

"The ban established by this norm applies to any product that falls under the Combined Nomenclature codes listed in Annex XXI, without the need to verify for each individual transaction whether the relevant acquisition, import or transfer leads to significant income for the Russian Federation," the text says.

Accordingly, a lawsuit filed by a Russian from Dusseldorf against the German customs, which did not register his car, in which he arrived in the country from the Russian Federation, was rejected. It is noted that this case was considered within the framework of the restrictive measures taken by the EU against Russia.

On February 2, Bloomberg learned that the EU is exploring the possibility of banning imports of platinum and copper from Russia as part of a new package of sanctions. As noted, these measures may also apply to iridium and rhodium. The head of the European Diplomacy, Kaya Kallas, confirmed on January 29 that the leaders of the EU member states plan to introduce a new, 20th package of anti-Russian sanctions on February 24.
