Avangard Hockey Club (HC) reached the FONBET playoffs of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) championship, despite the defeat of Avtomobilist HC. The game ended with a score of 2:3.

"It was enough for Avangard not to lose in regular time to reach the playoffs ahead of schedule," Sport-Express reported.
