The former commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy, Admiral of the Fleet Vladimir Kuroedov, died at the age of 82. This was reported on February 5 by a source of Izvestia.

According to him, the cause of death was a serious long-term illness.

Kuroyedov headed the Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy from 1997 to 2005. He was awarded the rank of Admiral of the Fleet in 2000.
