The construction of the right-hand stage tunnel to the Golyanovo metro station on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line of the Moscow metro has begun. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin told about this in his channel in the MACH messenger.

According to the mayor of the capital, the continuation of the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya branch line to Golyanovo station is one of the priorities of the capital's metro expansion program. The new section will stretch for 2.6 km, and its final destination, Golyanovo station, will be located on Ussuriyskaya Street, near its intersection with Sakhalinskaya and Khabarovsk Streets.

The tunnel will be laid using a 6-meter diameter Julia tunneling complex. He has already demonstrated his capabilities in the construction of complex metro sections in Samara and Moscow. According to the mayor of the capital, the construction of the Golyanovo station will be completed in two years.

"In November last year, work began in the left-hand ferry tunnel. We plan to complete its sinking in June, and the right one in September. The new section of the blue line should be completed in 2028," Sergei Sobyanin wrote.

As the mayor of the capital explained, as a result of the commissioning of a new section of the metro, residents of the Golyanovo district will have almost half the average travel time to the BCL from 40 to 25 minutes, and they will be able to get to the MCC 1.5 times faster — 30 minutes instead of 20. In addition, it will be possible to reduce the load on Shchelkovskaya station by 30%, where there is an increased concentration of passengers during rush hours today.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
