Applications for the annual children's drawing contest "The Heritage of my District" have begun in Moscow. The work is accepted until April 6, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.

Children between the ages of seven and 15 can participate in the competition.

"This year, the competition program has been supplemented with new nominations. One of them was timed to coincide with the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia. Young artists are invited to follow how the multinational nature of our country is reflected in Moscow architecture. As part of the other program, children will depict urban sculptures, monuments and monuments erected in honor of significant dates and outstanding people," Sergunina said.

The third new nomination was dedicated to one of the spheres of the cultural life of the capital. 2026 marks the 250th anniversary of the founding of the State Academic Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, 270 years since the formation of the Russian professional theatre, as well as the 150th anniversary of the Union of Theatrical Figures of Russia. The contestants will draw theater buildings, houses where famous actors and directors lived, as well as other related objects.

There will be two directions in each category: "Amateurs" (7-11 and 12-15 years old), "Professionals" (7-11 and 12-15 years old). The winners will be selected by a jury consisting of artists, educators, architects, local historians, cultural and artistic figures.

The participants of the Active Citizen project will also vote for the best drawings.

The award ceremony is scheduled to take place at the end of May. The best works will be shown at exhibitions organized on boulevards and in parks.
