The number of robots has been calculated at the AVTOVAZ plant

The number of robots involved in the production of cars at the AvtoVAZ plant in Tolyatti has reached about 1.3 thousand units. The press service of the domestic car company announced this in its Telegram channel on February 5.

In total, 1.6 thousand robots are involved in AvtoVAZ enterprises. Machines are trusted with work that requires maximum precision and strength. For example, robotic complexes are used for stamping parts in pressing production.

Of the 1.3 thousand robots in Tolyatti, 33 robots work on stamping parts in press production, they move blanks and already stamped roofs, hoods, doors and other parts. Body welding operations are performed by more than 900 robots. 74 robots are involved in painting, 40 help assemble motors, and 60 produce plastic products.

The company noted that the automation level on the Lada Granta welding line is approaching 85%. This year, the number of robots at the Tolyatti plant is planned to increase in preparation for mass production of the Lada Azimut crossover.

Earlier, on February 3, AvtoVAZ announced the launch of sales of the Lada Vesta CNG dual-fuel sedan. Such a car can run on both gasoline and methane, and travel over 1,000 km without stopping to refuel. The price of the new product starts from 1.88 million rubles (1.52 million rubles with state subsidy).
