The Russian delegation did not change its tone at the talks with Ukraine and the United States in Abu Dhabi. This was stated by State Duma deputy Alexei Chepa on Wednesday, February 4. He stressed that the country has always been interested in ending the conflict.

According to the parliamentarian, it is Europe that is changing the tone and vector, and Russia has always been focused on peace agreements, on eliminating the root causes of the conflict.

"From France and Great Britain, for example, we hear statements that in case of violation of future agreements they will send troops to Ukraine, close the airspace and so on. In other words, this is NATO's advance to the East and a direct disregard for the root causes of the conflict, an attempt to disrupt a peaceful settlement," the politician said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

The MP added that Russia is interested in peace, as well as in avoiding further militarization of Europe and a new arms race.

"But changing the tone of the negotiations on Ukraine will not stop it. We understand that NATO has long called Russia its enemy, and we will not reverse the Russophobic movements. So there was no change of tone on the part of the Russian delegation. We continue to insist on the agreements reached in Anchorage," concluded Chepa.

Earlier in the day, Politico reported that the Russian delegation had changed its tone at talks with Ukraine and the United States in Abu Dhabi, RT reports. It is reported that Moscow intends to slow down the militarization of the European Union (EU) in this way, according to the website. kp.ru .
