- Construction of a crossing at the Vavilovskaya metro station in Moscow has been completed
The construction of the underpass at the Vavilovskaya station of the Troitskaya line of the Moscow Metro has been completed. This was announced on Wednesday, February 4, in the Max messenger by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.
According to him, a new underpass and an additional exit from the southern lobby, built under Leninsky Prospekt, have been opened at the station. Previously, passengers used two lobbies — the northern one with one exit and the southern one with two. With the introduction of a new exit, the construction of a 23-meter-long underpass has been completed, the Moscow City News Agency reports. During the work, almost 1.8 thousand cubic meters of reinforced concrete were laid, and architectural and finishing works were carried out on an area of more than 4.3 thousand square meters. m.
Sobyanin added that aluminum panels and natural gabbro stone, which is durable and resistant to moisture and frost, were used for decoration in the passenger area. In addition, the pavilion has three escalators and a domestic elevator.
The official also noted that the opening of the new exit will shorten the path to the metro from the even-numbered side of Leninsky Prospekt by about 40%, NSN said. He recalled that the Vavilovskaya station began operation in September last year as part of the first stage of the Troitskaya Line, and construction of the second stage is already underway, including six more stations, which are expected by residents of the TiNAO, Moscow 24 notes.
