The governor of the Chelyabinsk region was left in jail.

Roman Menzhinsky will remain under arrest in a pre-trial detention center (SIZO) under the management of the governor and the government of the Chelyabinsk region. This was announced on February 4 by the press service of the Moscow courts of general jurisdiction.

"The managing director of the governor and the government of the Chelyabinsk region has been placed under arrest. The Moscow City Court upheld the decision of the Basmanny District Court of Moscow to extend the period of detention in respect of Roman Vladimirovich Menzhinsky, accused of abuse of office," the Telegram channel of the authorities said.
